Warburton MTB Destination Engagement Report

Thanks for telling us your thoughts about the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination in 2018 and 2019!

We’ve heard from more than 300 community members about the project over the last 18 months, representing business, government and community groups, as well as people from a range of backgrounds.

This feedback was shared through drop-in sessions, meetings and an online survey, along with the State Government’s Engage Victoria website, and has directly resulted in changes to trail alignments to better protect the environment, removal of trails near residential areas and mapping and protection of areas of historical significance.

All of this has informed the Draft Master Plan, which we’re expecting to share with the community in March 2020.

The Draft Master Plan will explore different parts of the Warburton Mountain Bike Destination project, including environmental considerations, trail alignments and ideas for future stages.

Community feedback on the draft will be essential for creating the final Master Plan, which will be presented to Council for consideration.

We’ve compiled all of the feedback received over the last 18 months into an Engagement Report featuring  feedback we received on a number of key themes, including:

  • The road network
  • Traffic and parking
  • Environmental management
  • Trail route and design
  • Additional trails
  • Private property
  • Bush walking
  • Safety risks
  • Protection of heritage or culturally significant sites
