A short section of the Macintyre Lane at the Melba Highway end will be fully closed due to Road and Pedestrian works commencing on the 17th October 2022 at Macintyre Lane, Yering.
These road widening works are underway to implement pedestrian improvement identified for the Yarra Valley Trail.
The works will provide significant improvements to the quality and safety of the Yarra Valley Trail users and will include:
- Pavement widening
- Pedestrian and cyclist crossing
- Lighting improvement works
- Line marking and signage
- Relocation of the existing car park further south along Macintyre Lane
The works are expected to be completed by late November 2022 subject to favourable conditions.
The closure will be in placed 24/7 and will affect all through traffic. Local traffic and other motorists who require access to Macintyre Lane can still access this road via Victoria Road.

Car Park Closure – remains closed as of June 2022
The Car Park on Macintyre Lane, Yering will continue to remain closed. The closure is due to the next stage of works for the Yarra Valley Trail.
A pedestrian refuge will be constructed to ensure safe passage for users of the Yarra Valley Trail to cross Macintyre Lane safely.
