Winning design for Coldstream Station Pump Track Announced

The results are in for the Coldstream Station Pump Track! We asked what design you want to see and the winner is “Option 2 – Jump line technical loop”: a fast-paced and technical track with flowy jumps.

An impressive 44.6% of respondents chose Option #2 as their preferred design.

Of the 271 votes received, around 50% of people were from Yarra Ranges, including 9.38% from Coldstream.

We also listened to your specific feedback on the design and have made adjustments to reflect your input. This includes adding a beginner loop and making sure the track is more accessible. Council will also continue to advocate to the State Government for a pedestrian crossing along Maroondah Highway.

If you’re not familiar with pump tracks, a pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden by “pumping” to generate momentum instead of pedalling. Pump tracks can be ridden using a bike, scooter, skateboard and even wheelchairs.

A new car park will also be developed on the site which will allow approximately 30 spaces. The Landscape Plan outlines the rough location of the car park. Allowance for future car park expansion will be considered.

Weather permitting, construction for the Coldstream Station Pump Track will commence mid-September 2022.
