Yarra Valley Trail Stage 2A gets Federal funding green light

Yarra Ranges Council welcomes the exciting news from the Hon Catherine King MP, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government, confirming $4.9 million Australian Government funding to complete Yarra Valley Trail Stage 2A.

Stage 2A will see a shared trail constructed parallel to the Yarra Valley Railway between Yarra Glen and Tarrawarra Road, linking the trail with some of Victoria’s finest wineries and tourism products and encouraging visitors to explore the natural beauty of the Yarra Valley and the Yarra River, Birrarung.

Yarra Valley Trail is a ‘game changer’ project in the region, reinforcing the Yarra Valley as a top cycling destination for all levels of experience, drawing new visitors to the region and increasing the length of stay.

Detailed planning and design will now commence, with construction anticipated to commence in 2024.
